Holmen Vikings

Despite facing a skilled and experienced Onalaska team, the Holmen Adapted Sports League (ASL) exhibited heart and determination in last night’s game. Although the scoreboard read 6-1 in favor of Onalaska, Holmen’s head coach, Nick Slusser, praised his team’s remarkable effort.

“Forget the score of the game… our athletes won every other category tonight,” Slusser said. “We were short on athletes for various reasons, but every single Viking battled every minute until time expired.”

Slusser made it a point to recognize the entire roster — Kai, Andrew, Nick, Josie, Carter, Jack, Jett, Aiden, Gabriella, Logan, and Kian — for their unwavering effort, resilience, and sportsmanship.

A special shout-out went to Nick Hermann for scoring Holmen’s sole goal.

Looking ahead, the Holmen ASL squad will carry their growth and positive momentum to their next game at West Salem Middle School, where they’ll face the West Salem Adapted Sports League at 4:15 p.m. Rest up, Vikings — you’ve already earned a victory far beyond the final score.
