Holmen Middle School Volleyball

Hello everyone! This is some start-up information about our upcoming Holmen Middle School volleyball season.  

Important Dates:

• Monday, August 26th–First day of practice. 2:50-4:30 pm GYM A 
• Monday, August 26th- Parent Meeting 4:30pm GYM A for both 7th & 8th Grade

Other Important Information:

• Skills will be taught, practiced, and evaluated during the first few days of practice. This program uses an “A” and “B” team format. We will have two “A” teams and two “B” teams, divided as equally as possible that will follow two separate game schedules (Holmen 1 and Holmen 2). Once teams are assigned, you will know which game schedule you will follow.  The first match for Holmen 1 is September 17th and Holmen 2 is September 12th.  

• • Players will need athletic shoes, socks, shorts/Spandex or sweats, and a t-shirt for practice each day. Knee pads are optional, yet encouraged.
  • Players are expected to be at practice every day with a positive attitude.  Please contact the coach in writing (email preferred) if your child is going to miss practice or competition for any reason.   
  • Practices will end at 5:00 each day.  Please arrange to be picked up at 5:00.  Due to only having one gym, we will be rotating through three stations each day at practice: 1) volleyball specific workouts in the weight room, 2) classroom time viewing film, team bonding and journal time, and 3) gym time.  

• Before the first practice, you must have a physical and be registered online through the Holmen District Website. Players may not practice until this is completed. (https://holmenhs-ar.rschooltoday.com)

• Jerseys–will be handed out before the first game and need to be returned at the completion of the season.  Wear black spandex/shorts/leggings with the jerseys.  
• Apparel:  The players will have an opportunity to purchase Holmen volleyball apparel.  The form will be handed out at the parent meeting and turn in date will be Tuesday, September 3rd.  This is completely optional.  

Game Schedules–Go to 3riverswi.org>Holmen Middle School>>View Schedules>Pick 7th Grade or 8th Grade Volleyball to view.  It is also advised to download the rSchool App, called Activity Scheduler.  This app will have the most up to date information as well.
