Makenzie Nunemacher collected three hits in three at bats, as Holmen Varsity Vikings defeated La Crosse Central 10-0 on Thursday. Nunemacher singled in the second inning, singled in the fourth inning, and singled in the fifth inning.

The bottom of the lineup was strong for Holmen Varsity Vikings. Josie Happel, Lindi Larson, and Nunemacher combined for six of the team’s 12 hits in their victory. They scored five runs and drove in five.

Holmen Varsity Vikings opened the scoring in the first after Kaylee Mosser singled, scoring one run.

Holmen Varsity Vikings added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Happel doubled to center field, and Nunemacher singled, each scoring one run.

Holmen Varsity Vikings added one run in the third after Imani Toso hit a sacrifice fly.

Gabi Stuhr earned the win for Holmen Varsity Vikings. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Carmen Peterson took the loss for La Crosse Central. The hurler went four innings, allowing seven runs (six earned) on 10 hits, striking out four and walking two.

Holmen Varsity Vikings tallied 12 hits in the game. Happel and Nunemacher were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Holmen Varsity Vikings.

Leadoff hitter Peterson led La Crosse Central with three hits in three at bats.

Holmen Varsity Vikings play at home on Friday against Marshfield in their next game.
