TOMAH, WI — In a game that featured 27 runs, 28 hits, and a relentless offensive onslaught from both sides, the Holmen Vikings emerged victorious over the Tomah Timberwolves with a 15-12 win in a wild seven-inning battle on Monday.

Holmen jumped out early with a run in the first, but Tomah answered with a three-run frame to take the lead. The game stayed tight until the fourth inning, when Holmen began to pull away, scoring three in the fourth, four in the fifth, and sealing it with a six-run outburst in the seventh. Despite a valiant four-run rally in the bottom of the seventh, Tomah fell just short.

Holmen’s offense was firing on all cylinders, racking up 15 hits and producing runs in six of seven innings. Leading the charge was Noah Oswald, who went 3-for-5 with two doubles and four RBIs, anchoring the heart of the lineup. Joe Meeter and Alex Goryl also shined, collecting three and two hits respectively, while Jude Anderson drove in three key runs with timely hitting.

On the mound, Paul Goryl earned the win, pitching 4.2 gritty innings while striking out three and working around eight hits and two walks. Brayden Wall closed the door with a scoreless seventh.

Tomah refused to go quietly, showing resilience at the plate. Leadoff man Nate Hendricks was nearly unstoppable, going 4-for-5 with a double, three runs scored, and an RBI. Tucker Frandsen chipped in two hits, including a double, and drove in three. However, defensive miscues and 11 runners left on base proved costly for the Timberwolves.

Pitching proved to be the difference, as Tomah’s Breckin Sheldon and Quinn Gerke combined to allow 15 runs on 16 hits, while the defense committed three errors.

Game Highlights:

  • Holmen tallied 14 RBIs from nine different players.
  • Holmen had eight stolen bases and drew four walks.
  • Tomah left the bases loaded in the second and sixth innings.
  • Both teams combined for seven extra-base hits and six multi-RBI performances.
