The Holmen girls wrestling team showcased a strong performance at the Warrior Women’s Challenge on January 18, 2025. The team had multiple standout performances, including several top finishers in both Gold and Silver divisions.

Gold Division Highlights

  • Kaytlynn Lambries (107) claimed third place, earning 20 team points. Lambries displayed resilience, winning two matches by fall and securing the bronze medal with a major decision victory over Margaret Barrett (Sauk Prairie/Wis. Heights) 11-2.
  • Sophia Walter (185) placed sixth after a competitive bracket run, scoring 4 team points and defeating Emily Heisner (Mineral Point) by decision 9-4 in the consolation round.

Silver Division Standouts

  • Kayleen Bazan (120) earned third place, finishing her tournament with a commanding fall victory over Eleni Prantalos (Wausau West) in 2:00.
  • Aubrey Hauser (100) secured fifth place, highlighted by two wins against Kaily Xiong (Eau Claire North), including a swift fall in just 10 seconds.
  • Lexi Schauf (107) placed fourth after a competitive bracket that featured multiple wins by fall.
  • Natalie Markos (145) captured second place, advancing to the championship match with three consecutive victories by fall.

Notable Achievements

Freshman Elsie Hakala (114) and Aubrey Hauser (100) celebrated their first-ever wrestling victories at the tournament, marking important milestones in their young careers.

The Holmen girls wrestling team continues to build momentum as they prepare for upcoming competitions, demonstrating depth, determination, and significant individual growth on the mat.
