Holmen Girls Wrestling showcased their dedication and drive at the 2025 WIAA Individual State Tournament, with Haley Dezelske and Allison Weiss representing the team at the highest level. Though neither wrestler placed, their performances highlighted the hard work and commitment they’ve put into the sport.

This was Allison Weiss‘s second consecutive appearance at the individual state tournament, showing her continued perseverance to compete at the highest level. For both Haley Dezelske and Allison Weiss, their journeys at the state tournament were important steps in their wrestling careers.

Haley Dezelske (Girls 114) – Results:

Haley Dezelske (32-11) represented Holmen in the 114-pound weight class. While she did not place, Dezelske showed resilience throughout the tournament.

Round 1:

  • Opponent: Naomi Bermudo (Sauk Prairie/Wis. Heights-Girls) (19-6)
  • Result: Win by fall (1:34)

Quarterfinal:

  • Opponent: Taylor Whiting (Lena-Girls) (17-0)
  • Result: Loss by technical fall (19-3) at 2:22

Consolation Round 2:

  • Opponent: Izzie Evitch (Menomonee Falls-Girls) (35-5)
  • Result: Loss by decision (5-2)

Allison Weiss (Girls 120) – Results:

Allison Weiss (26-18) made her second straight appearance at the state tournament in the 120-pound weight class. Although she did not place, Weiss competed with heart throughout the tournament.

Round 1:

  • Opponent: Devlynn Albrecht (Milton-Girls) (39-3)
  • Result: Loss by fall (2:29)

Consolation Round 1:

  • Opponent: Ellie Federl (Grafton-Girls) (31-15)
  • Result: Loss by major decision (12-0)

While Holmen Girls Wrestling didn’t see the success they hoped for at the 2025 state tournament, Haley Dezelske and Allison Weiss’s performances were still a testament to their hard work and growth as athletes.
