Holmen Dominates at Boys Varsity Wrestling Triangular at Central High School

Central High School hosted a Boys Varsity Wrestling Triangular on Thursday night, where Holmen took on La Crosse Logan/Central and Sparta, showcasing their dominance on the mat.
Holmen vs. La Crosse Logan/Central
Holmen started the night strong with an impressive performance against La Crosse Logan/Central, winning 12 of 14 matches. Key performances included Turner Campbell (132), Noah Henderson (138), and Nolan Knapmiller (150), who all secured victories by fall in under three minutes.
Calvin Arentz of La Crosse Logan/Central put up a strong fight with a major decision victory (13-3) at 165, while teammate Noah Nicholson (215) earned a fall at 3:07. However, Holmen’s consistent dominance across weight classes led to a commanding 70-9 team score.
Notably, Holmen’s Rex Lancaster (106) and Jin Xiong (113) both secured falls, continuing their strong seasons. Olie Strasser closed out the match with a pin at 126, further solidifying Holmen’s victory.
Holmen vs. Sparta
In their second match of the evening, Holmen continued their dominance against Sparta, finishing with a 63-16 team score. Camden Thiele (144) and Josiah Kulmaczewski (150) both earned pins, with Thiele’s coming at 3:14 and Kulmaczewski’s at 5:04.
Holmen’s Abraham Henderson (190) delivered the quickest fall of the dual at just 1:14, while Conner Degner (215) impressed with a technical fall victory (19-4). Meanwhile, Turner Campbell (132) sealed the night with a pin at 1:53.
Sparta’s highlights included Devon Lietzau (138), who achieved a technical fall (16-1), and Landon Connelly (113), who secured a technical fall at 17-2. Cadence Zwiefel (285) also earned a forfeit victory for Sparta.
Holmen’s Standout Season
With Thursday’s wins, Holmen improves to 9-4 overall and remains undefeated in conference play at 4-0. Their depth and consistent performance across weight classes continue to make them a force to be reckoned with.
Holmen’s next competition will test their momentum as they prepare for the upcoming conference championships.
