On February 27th, the Holmen boys basketball team secured a thrilling 71-69 victory over Aquinas, sharing the MVC title with Aquinas for the 2024-2025 season. This high-stakes win was a testament to the team’s resilience and teamwork, as they fought hard throughout the game to clinch the victory.

Key Player Performances:

• Wilber led the team with 18 points, shooting 44% from the field (4-9) and contributing 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. He also made 8 out of 11 free throws (72%).
• Eisermann added 15 points, shooting 53% from the field (7-13) and 50% from two-point range (6-12). He also had 3 assists and 3 steals.
• Rink was another standout with 7 points, shooting 60% (3-5) from two-point range and contributing 4 rebounds and 2 assists.
• Berget finished with 11 points, making 4 of 8 field goals and contributing 3 rebounds and 2 assists.
• Bartels was also key in the win, adding 17 points and 2 rebounds.

Team Performance: Holmen shot 49% from the field (25-51) and 52% from three-point range (10-19). The team also capitalized on free throws, finishing with a 68% success rate (11-16). Holmen was aggressive on both ends of the floor, recording 9 steals and 16 rebounds.

The victory secured Holmen a share of the MVC conference title with Aquinas, capping off an impressive regular season.

What’s Next: Holmen will face Kimberly in the regional round of the playoffs on March 7th at Holmen. This game will be another crucial test as they look to continue their momentum and advance further in the postseason.
