The Holmen ASL team hit the road last night in search of their first win of the season, and they delivered in spectacular fashion, shutting out the Onalaska Hilltoppers 7-0.
First Period:
Holmen came out energized, setting the tone early with a goal from Aiden Romskog. Nick Hermann followed up with a score off a beautiful assist from Karsen Nelson, ending the first period with a commanding 2-0 lead.
Second Period:
Holmen continued their offensive onslaught as Hermann set up Kian Carlisle for a dazzling backhanded goal. Carlisle struck again, closing out the second period with Holmen leading 4-0.
Third Period:
Aiden Romskog lit up the scoreboard with two more goals, completing an impressive hat trick. Kai Rice sealed the deal with his first goal of the season, bringing the final score to 7-0.
Stellar Defense:
Holmen’s defense was impenetrable, with standout performances from Josie Columbo, Gabriella Villareal, Jett Lewis, Kian Carlisle, and Logan Rastall. Carter Van Lin was a fortress in goal, making save after save to earn his first shutout of the season.
Coach Nick Slusser praised the team’s remarkable communication, effort, and unity:
“We went into the game knowing we had to play hard. Our focus was on communication and giving our best effort while having fun no matter the outcome. We played as a team, communicated as a team, and won as a team!”
