The 2025 WIAA Individual State Tournament was a historic moment for Holmen Boys Wrestling, as two freshmen, Rex Lancaster and Nathan Henderson, became the first in the program’s decorated history to place at the state tournament. Holmen Wrestling, with 146 state qualifiers and 70 state medals to its name, has now added another remarkable achievement to its storied tradition.
Both Lancaster and Henderson proved that Holmen’s wrestling future is bright, showcasing impressive talent and resilience in their state debut.
Rex Lancaster (D1-106) – 6th Place Finish:
Rex Lancaster, with a 46-7 record, fought hard to secure a 6th-place finish in the 106-pound weight class.

Nathan Henderson (D1-120) – 5th Place Finish:
Nathan Henderson, also a freshman with a 44-5 record, made a statement at the state tournament with a 5th-place finish in the 120-pound weight class.

Jonathon Lamprich (D1-165):
While Jonathon Lamprich (40-9) was unable to place in the 165-pound bracket, his tournament performance showed determination.

Looking Ahead: Holmen Boys Wrestling at Team State
After a historic performance at the individual state tournament, Holmen Boys Wrestling is now gearing up for the next challenge: the WIAA Team State Tournament, where they are seeded #4. The team will take on #5 Muskego this Friday in a highly anticipated match. Holmen’s success at the individual level has them poised to compete at the highest level in the team competition as well.
