Cyclones Shine in Shutout Win Over Icebergs

The Coulee Region Cyclones delivered an impressive 3-0 victory over the Icebergs, fueled by a strong team effort and an outstanding debut performance by new starting goalie Grace Johnsonrude.

Johnsonrude stepped into the starting role after Diana Hanson, the Cyclones’ highly accomplished and experienced goalie, suffered a season-ending injury. Hanson has been a cornerstone of the team, and her absence has been felt both on and off the ice. Rising to the challenge, Johnsonrude shined in her first start, stopping all 23 shots she faced and earning a shutout.

Offensively, the Cyclones were relentless, recording 41 shots on goal and converting three of them into scores. Gianna Sanchez (#18) led the way with two goals, the first assisted by Brooke Borkenhagen (#4) and the second by Makenna Olson. Brenna Pontius (#15) added the final goal, set up by Regan Domack.

The Cyclones showcased a cohesive effort, rallying around their new starting goalie while maintaining consistent pressure on both ends of the ice.

Looking ahead, the team faces a challenging week with three tough opponents, providing an opportunity for further growth as the Cyclones continue their season.
